Wallace Lucas, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Ochsner Hospital. He was 62 years old. Beloved husband of Paulette Porter-Lucas for 29 1/2 years. They would have celebrated their 30th year wedding anniversary on December 17, 2018. Loving father of Wuanique Cowan (De'Andre), Tiffany Lucas, Lorrianne Lucas, and Wallace Lucas Jr. Grandfather of De'Andre and Amiya Cowan and Leon Veal Jr. Brother of Apostle Leonard Lucas Jr., Brenda L. Price, Patricia Lucas, Lawrence Lucas Sr. (Claudette), Kevin Lucas Sr. (Marcella), Ronnie Lucas Sr. (Rovella), Lisa L. Williams (Patrick), and the late Michael and Gregory Lucas. Son of the late Leonard Sr. and Mary Lucas.

Wallace was a native of New Orleans, LA and a longtime resident of Terrytown, LA. He was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls. He was part owner of Lucas Insurance Benefits, along with his wife. Wallace was an amazing husband and father, who lived a wonderful and fulfilling life. He was an active member of the Zulu Social Aide and Pleasure Club for many years, where he served on numerous boards and committees. He loved his brotherhood dearly. He was also the Sergeant at Arms of the Big EZ Travel Club. He enjoyed hosting the bus rides to the Saints games and the other yearly events.

Wallace was very active in the political arena and a member of many political organizations. He was Director of External Operations and Vice President of Politcal Affairs for Change Makers PAC, a member of the LA GOP, member of the Pelican State Pachyderm Club, and a member of the Jefferson Parish Republican Executive Board. He was the former President of the Terrytown Civic Association for 4 years and was serving as Director.

Wallace was a great mentor to the many kids in the community who knew and loved him. He was transporter for any child who needed a ride and could be seen dropping off kids throughout the Westbank. He was a former volunteer at Terrytown Playground, where he coached basketball for many years. He served on the POPS committee at Immaculate Conception School for 4 years and was actively involved at Shaw and West Jefferson High Schools, which his son Wallace attended.

One of his greatest pleasures was traveling and participating in all of his son's sports endeavors. He could be seen at every basketball, baseball, and football game. But his greatest joy was his wife, Paulette, children, and grandchildren. He loved his family, friends, and colleagues and will be missed by so many. He leaves behind a host of sisters in law, brothers in law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved and adored him.

Relatives and friends of the family; Pastors, officers, and members of Life Center Cathedral and Light City Church; and employees of the U. S. Postal Service, West Jefferson High School, Legion Park Elementary in Houma and Shiloh Middle School in Grayson, GA are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Life Center Cathedral, 2100 Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation begins at 8:00 a.m. Pastor J.
