On Friday, February 6, 2015 at 9:34 AM at Touro Infirmary. God called Michael George Corneiago to eternal rest at the age of 47. Son of the late Edna Corneiago and George Lewis. Michael was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and graduated from F.T. Nicholls High School in 1985. He was baptized at an early age and re-dedicated his life to Christ in 2003. Michael was President of the Pastors' Aide Ministry and Culinary Ministry at Galilee Baptist Church; he was also Commissioner-in-charge at polling station Ward Precinct. Michael was a culinary genius. Left to celebrate precious memories are his sisters Anna Corneiago-Rivers and Annette Corneiago, brother Malcolm Corneiago, two nieces Chantel Rivers and Chandra Rivers-Chandler (Alvin), great nephews Derrick Henderson Jr., Alvin Jr. and Kaleb Chandler, great nieces Destinee Henderson and Ad'Niya Chandler, uncle Curtis Baptist, lifelong friend Rodney Clark, God sisters Gaynell Green and Demitri Scott, God daughter Jada Gibson, he is also survived by a host of step siblings, family and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmothers Annie Bell Smith and Vivian Baptist, aunt Barbara jones and brother-in-law Clarence Rivers.
Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors and members of Galilee B.C. and neighboring churches, employees of Good Samaritan Rehab and Nursing Home, Elder Care and Polling Precinct Workers are invited to attend the funeral service at 9:00 AM at Galilee B.C., 1528 Louisa St. Visitation will be from 8:00 Am until 9:00 AM.
