Lionel Louis Fascio, Sr, departed this life with his family at his bedside on Thursday, June 2, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of Juanita Tircuit Fascio for 56 years, and father of Tammy Fascio Johnson (Reginald), Lionel Louis Fascio, II. (Angela) and Dr. Susan Fascio-Vereen (Vincent Taharq). He was the grandfather of Angel, Nita, Reginald Jr., Lionel III, Vincent, and Thandie, and great-grandfather of Logan, Parvana, MaeLoni, and Ni'kaela. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lionel was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Tyler and father, Albert Fascio, as well as brothers and sisters (Albert, Ramona (William), Thelma (Vernon), Audrey, Herman, and Alvarez (Gladys). Lionel attended Corpus Christi Catholic School and graduated from Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years and retired from the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier after 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and he will be missed very much.
Relatives and friends of the family, priests and parishioners of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and employees of the United States Postal Service are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 11th, 2016 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, 2022 St. Bernard Ave., NOLA. Visitation begins at 8:00 am. Interment will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
