Linda Faye Lenoir-Jenkins was born on March 19, 1954 to the proud parents of James Ernest and Lillie Bernice Lenoir in New Orleans, LA at Charity Hospital. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans, LA in 1972 and shortly after started her career. She met her husband Edward Jenkins, Jr. in January 1983 at the Touch of Class Night Club. He approached her at the club and with her witty personality responded, "I'm in the phone book." They were married on November 19, 1988 and are the proud parents of their only child Edward Jenkins, III who was born in Dallas, TX.
She was a proud mother and cherished nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She even treated her co-workers like family. She was employed by Xerox for over 30 years where she retired as an account manager. In her career, she excelled and was recognized with multiple President's Club Awards for over achievement in sales. She also was an active member of MUSR (Minorities United in the Southern Region). Up until her homegoing she still maintained great relationships with her previous co-workers.
She accepted Christ at an early age at Loving Four Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. In 1995, she joined Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Kenner, LA under the leadership of Rev. Leroy A. Taylor where she remained a devoted member until her transition.
Linda was a beautiful, meticulous, fun loving, and vibrant woman. She loved holidays, family functions, social events, attending concerts, dancing, and festivals. She was a devoted mother; anyone that knew her, knew that her son was her pride and joy. After retirement, she became a dedicated member at the local YMCA attending numerous workout classes daily. She cherished the bonds and relationships that she developed with her "work out crew." This past summer she won an award at the Kenner, LA YMCA for attending the most classes. She was known by many for her infectious laugh and smile.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie B Lenoir; her father, James E Lenoir; sisters, Patricia Keating and Debbie Lenoir; brother, Michael Jones; uncles, John Lenoir and Lawrence Chaney; aunts, Clara Buckles, Lillian Jones, Ollie Chaney, and Eva McGee; niece, Shandricka Boullt; nephew, Jovan Boullt; and great nephew, Sheldon B Boullt.
