Kaiyah Imani Alexander entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was born on June 6, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Erika Lindsey Allen and Jordan David Alexander.

Kaiyah's life is survived by great grandmothers, Sandra Jones and Irma Duhe; grandparents, Yvette Alexander James, Michelle Allen and Walter Allen; aunts and uncles, Cy'era James, Keagen James, Elissa Allen, Cooper Allen, Joel Allen, and Jason Allen; as well as a host of cousins, great aunts and uncles and other relatives and friends. She joins her great grandparents, Edward Jones, Sr., Emelda Cooper Allen, Walter T. Allen and Percy Duhe in Heaven.

From birth, Kaiyah kept a smile on her face as well as the faces of all who were in her presence. Though Kaiyah was born with congenital nephrotic syndrome, a rare kidney disorder, her illness never weighed her down. Despite her short time with us, she left a lasting impression on all of those she met. There was not a day that Kaiyah did not make the most of her two years on this Earth. Her fight and attitude throughout every procedure was inspirational. The impact she left on our hearts is a legacy that will never be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial in Kaiyah's honor at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment: St. Louis #3 Cemetery. Arrangement by D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Children's Hospital New Orleans in memory of Kaiyah Alexander. Please send to Children's Hospital Development Department, 200 Henry Clay Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118.

The family of Kaiyah Alexander is grateful to each of you for your prayers, words of encouragement, kind deeds and other expressions of love and care. Thank you for sharing in the celebration of the life of our Kaiyah.
