Geraldine Marie Boyd Harris, affectionately known as "Gerry", transitioned from this life to her eternal resting place in heaven on November 11, 2017. She was a retired cook/baker, and loved to see folks enjoying her delectable treats. Along with her husband, she was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She faithfully served as a member of the Hospitality ministry, KPC Ladies Auxiliary Court # 240, and 55 & Faster until her illness prevented her participation. Gerry loved cooking, going to concerts, listening to music, going to basketball games, but most of all she enjoyed the company of family and friends. She was known for her beautiful smile and humble spirit; simply put, she was a "classy lady."
Geraldine was united in marriage to the love of her life, her faithful and devoted husband of 57 years, Joseph H. Harris, Sr., on January 22, 1960. To their union was born four children, Joseph (Michelle), Evette (Melvin), Lerone, and Paulette (Richard); ten grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Natasha, James, Ariana, Joseph, Kelly, Candis, Areah, Montel, Destiny, and Maegan; and five great-grandchildren, Janiyah, Kenzie, Jo-Jo, Marlie, and Ashton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Robert Jr., Alvarez, Joseph and Merlin; and two sisters, Ursula and Bernadette (Andrew). She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Joseph H. Harris, Sr, two sons, Joseph Jr. and Lerone, two daughters, Evette and Paulette; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Eldridge, Earl, Gerald and Alex; 2 sisters, Irma and Delores; one brother-in-law, Andrew; two sisters-in-law, Eugenia and Renee'; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10:00am on Saturday November 18, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6828 Chef Mentur Hwy, New Orleans, LA.
