Carmen Rogers Morial passed on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the age of 101. Carmen married Alvin Robinson who died suddenly and later she married Walter E. Morial Jr. who is also deceased. Daughter of the late Simon and Amanda Jourdain Rogers. Sister of the late Leon Rogers, Sidney Rogers (Myrtle), Mae R. Smith (Rodney), Noella R. Cooper (Benjamin) and Simon Rogers (Lynn). Godmother of Penny Cooper McKnight and Cheri Morial Ausberry. Aunt of Iris Brownbill, Erica Davis, Sonja Rodriguez, Penny McKnight (Gregory), Gaynell Lawrence and the late Sidney, Alvin, and Donald (Rogers), Leslie (Robert) and Dorothy (Rivers). She is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Carmen was an elementary teacher at both Craig School and Valena C. Jones. Her love for teaching, brought her great joy, but most importantly, the students she taught, gave her a feeling of immense pride and accomplishment.
Carmen was part of the social community in New Orleans. Her clubs included The Black Pirates, the Lorelei and the Garden Club.
When she was forced to leave the city because of Katrina, Carmen's friends Ethel Seque in Covington and Marie Tervalon in Houston invited Carmen and Gaynell into their homes.

Relatives and friends of the family, priest and parishioners of Transfiguration of The Lord, St. Gabriel the Archangel, St. Leo the Great-St. Raymond, and Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Churches, Alumni of Xavier University and the class of
1940, staff and clients of Harmony House and Pontchartrain Park Centers, members of the Answering Mary's Call Rosary Group and club members of Black Pirates are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Transfiguration of The Lord Catholic Church, 5621Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122 on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11:00 am. Father Paul Desrosiers, Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the hour of service. Rosary will begin at 9:45 am. Reflections will begin at 10:30 am. Interment: St. Louis Cemetery # 1.
