Almeaner Cropper O'Conner, 80, was born March 2, 1937, in Ethel, Louisiana, to the late William Allie Cropper and the late Clara Franklin Cropper. Almeaner was called from labor to reward on September 25, 2017, at Ochsner Westbank, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Almeaner is a retired employee of BellSouth Corporation, AT&T South, having worked in recognized employment for thirty (30) years. She has been one of the original faithful, supportive Altar Worker Ministry and Tea Pot Ministry members at Firehouse Family Ministries for over twenty (20) years. She is now absent from the body but present with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Almeaner is survived by the love of her youth, Johnny O'Conner, her sisters Gloris S. Harrell, Brenda M. Burns, Bernadine McGee, Mary M. Parker, Castadere McGee and preceded by the late Marjorie M. Smith. Almeaner leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, her daughters, Denise Leonard, Glenda Lewis (Teron, Sr.), Monica Johnson (Herman, Sr.), Patricia Guidry, Elza LeBeauf (Donald, Sr.), Tyrone Leonard and Timothy Russell, as well as 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, prophets, officers and members of her home church Firehouse Family Ministries, New Orleans, Louisiana, New Zion Baptist Church, New Orleans, Louisiana, Trinity Church of Cedar Hill, Texas and Living Cornerstone Church International of Braithwaite, Louisiana are invited to attend A Celebration of Life and Homegoing on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at New Zion Baptist Church, 2319 Third Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113 (corner of Third & LaSalle), officiated by Pastor Sherman L. Shelton, Sr., Firehouse Family Ministries. Viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am; Funeral Service 11:00 am.; Interment: Providence Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70003; Repast: New Zion Baptist Church, 2319 Third Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113 (corner of Third & LaSalle).
