Ada Louise Hannibal Green died on January 29, 2016, at age 87. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene Hannibal Greene and Jerome Greene, Sr.; her husband, John Milton Green; and her niece, Leslie Greene. She leaves to mourn her passing three sisters, Betty Greene Gibson (Kenneth), Lyndia Green-Faust, and Andree Cazenave Reese (Donald); two brothers, Jerome Greene, Jr., (Zelda) and Noel Cazenave; aunt Elizabeth Thornton Green; nieces Tamara Gibson Welch (Keith), who is also her godchild, Lorri Faust Waye (Brian), and Alyssa Greene Mitchell (Robert); nephews Tracy Gibson (Julie), Daymond Faust (also her godchild), Clifton Faust and Jerome Greene, III; and additional godchildren, Debra Jackson DeCuir, and Irieon Ross Green. She is also survived by a host of grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was a graduate of McDonogh #35 High School, Dillard University, Atlanta University, and Southeastern Louisiana University.
She taught and was a guidance counselor at Central Memorial High School and Bogalusa High School in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She later worked at Dillard University as Coordinator of Career Planning and Development.
Relatives and family friends, also members of First Street Peck Wesley United Methodist Church, Thirkield United Methodist Church, the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Rho Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Quettes of Rho Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Top Ladies of Distinction, Dillard University and Bogalusa High School administration, faculty staff and alumni are invited to attend a celebration of life on Friday, February 5, 2016 at First Street Peck Wesley United Methodist Church, 2309 Dryades St., New Orleans, LA 70113. Visitation 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Omega Omega ritual, 9:00 a.m.; Top Ladies of Distinction ritual, 10:30 a.m.).
